Indication:   

Olysio (Simeprevir) is an antiviral drug used in combination with other medications to treat chronic (long-lasting) hepatitis C, a viral infection of the liver. Olysio (Simeprevir) belongs to a class of drugs known as protease inhibitors. It works by reducing the amount of hepatitis C virus in your body, which may help your liver recover. Chronic hepatitis C infection can cause serious liver problems such as scarring (cirrhosis) or liver cancer.

Mechanism of action:

Olysio (Simeprevir) functions as a direct-acting antiviral agent because it inhibits hepatitis C viral replication by binding to and inhibiting the protease, hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS3/4A.

Dosage and Administration:

Use Olysio (Simeprevir) as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
